MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The BT BOCES Virtual Learning Academy is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Social Worker to provide support to students in grades 7-12. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the mental health and well-being of our students, helping them navigate the challenges of virtual learning, and promoting a positive and supportive school environment. This will be a hybrid position. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and collaborate with teachers and parents to develop support plans
  • Offer crisis intervention and conflict resolution support as necessary.
  • Monitor and support the mental health and social-emotional development of students.
  • Provide referrals to community resources and outside agencies as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with parents, school staff, and other professionals to create holistic support for students
  • Develop and deliver social-emotional learning resources and activities tailored to the virtual learning environment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum $52,982 + DOE per BTA Contract
