Major Responsibilities:

This position supports Broome-Tioga BOCES efforts to attract, hire, and retain a high quality, diverse workplace. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, data-informed recruitment and retention plan aligned with district hiring goals as an equal opportunity employer. Some key responsibilities include:

  • Manages the full talent acquisition cycle of recruitment, selection and onboarding while building strong pipelines of qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish partnerships with higher education institutions, professional organizations, and business leaders at the local, state and national levels to expand outreach efforts.
  • Attends and represents the district at job fairs, college and university recruitment events, and community outreach programs.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with higher education institutions, professional organizations, and community networks.
  • Coordinates with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and align recruitment efforts with departmental goals.
  • Supports retention efforts by identifying trends in turnover and recommending strategies to enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Uses data to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and recommends adjustments as needed.
  • Ensures recruitment practices comply with equal employment (EEO) regulations and district policies.
  • Monitors and promotes equitable hiring practices throughout the talent acquisition process.
  • Good knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to recruitment, selection, employee benefit plans, and employment practices, including NYS labor laws.
  • Good knowledge of Human Resources functions such as recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and promotion.
  • General knowledge of NYS Teacher Certification is a plus.
  • Performs related duties as required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews service-related problems and concerns reported by the customer, investigates problem sources, works with the service delivery team to recommend solutions; Effectively communicates solutions in both written and oral form with other departments, third party vendors, customers, and the service delivery team to efficiently resolve any issues.
  • Provides basic technical support for business information systems by outlining steps for resolution and explaining preventative measures
  • Trains and supports districts and internal teams in the software used for the Technology Procurement process for tracking of purchasing and receiving of goods and services
  • Escalates complex business information system technical support tickets to the applicable service delivery team
  • Tracks and reviews maintenance and licensing agreements and processes annual renewals
  • Prepares district anticipated service reports and manages the billing of those services
  • Enters requisitions and process purchase orders once they have been fully approved
  • Maintains district budgets for business services and provides monthly reconciliations
  • Provides support to internal teams with contract and procurement questions
