MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The District Business Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the financial and operational aspects of the Broome Tioga BOCES Central Business Office. Reporting to the BOCES Director of Business Operations or designated authority, they oversee a team of financial professionals.

Responsibilities include analyzing operational procedures, implementing improvements, managing school financial data, assisting in preparation of school district expense and revenue budgets, and other budget and finance related documents. Other duties include participation in accounting functions, including, but not limited to, federal grants, cash functions, capital project tracking, and other related tasks.

Assists in the development and administration of personnel policies, resolution of employee work-related issues, hiring procedures and staff evaluation.

Additionally, they develop and monitor fiscal data, policies and procedures for school districts, and prepare and compile data for financial and statistical reports while serving as a liaison between district staff, administration, and Boards of Education. Serves on committees and attends Board of Education meetings as required.

Responsible for reviewing, monitoring and managing contracts and quotes, reconciling revenues and expenditures, and preparing reports. This work is primarily financial/statistical in nature, but requires an understanding of the operating plans and activities of a purchasing department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicate with and give appropriate guidance to district personnel on payroll issues. Maintenance of all payroll records, and handling all deductions. Processing of payroll computer runs. Preparation and verification of all required federal and state payroll tax reports. Performs related duties as required.

Reviews a variety of documents, reports and other documents for completeness, accuracy, processes and conformity with defined procedures.  May process claims and verify accuracy of billing.  Performs a variety of clerical tasks including phones, filing and data entry. Does related work as needed.
