Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Involves the preparation and cooking of food on a moderately large scale, and supervision of school cafeteria personnel.  Oversee the storage and care of foods and supplies.  Maintain records on food and supplies received and used.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the School Lunch Manager.  Does related work as required.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition or closely related field, and two years’ experience in the preparation of food on a large scale, OR;
  • Four years’ experience in large-scale food preparation, OR;
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above.

NOTE:  Large scale cooking is the preparation of a variety of meals requiring varying preparation techniques for service of groups of more than 50 people
