Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Virtual Learning Academy Principal and Assistant Principal
• Assists with purchasing supplies and materials
• Assists with copies and preparation, and mailing of materials as needed
• Assists with updating service websites
• Prepares required reports and collects a variety of data
• Organizes and maintains service-related files
• Utilizes software applications, including but not limited to Edgenuity, School Tool, Microsoft Office, Cleartrack, and Google Applications
• Assists with scheduling/enrollment of students
• Answer VLA main office phone and staff the Virtual Main Office, addressing parent and student questions as needed
• Does related work as required

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree, OR
2. Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree and two years of clerical experience in and office setting which must have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet applications; OR
3. Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and four years of clerical experience in an office setting which must have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet application; OR
4. An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of A), B) and C) above.
5. Broome County Civil Service examination required
